Azarel de la Cruz joined Cortland 2021 as Senior Interior Designer, based in Phoenix, Arizona. During her career in the design and construction industry Azarel has worked on various project types including workplace, aviation, K-12 education, environmental branding, and Class A luxury multi-family developments in the Western Region and the Pacific Northwest. Azarel obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from Arizona State University and has also earned her NCIDQ certification.
Prior to joining Cortland, Azarel was with Katerra Construction and was responsible for managing design development, budgets, schedules, and delivery of amenity spaces and units for new construction multi-family projects, notable project AIYA in Gilbert, AZ. Prior to that she was at Corgan, where she had worked on design for large scale commercial projects, ranging from 50,000 SF – 440,000 SF, clients included Indeed.com Regional Office, PHX Sky Harbor Terminal 3 Modernization, and SRP HQ.
Azarel has a passion for interdisciplinary design, bridging different principles and disciplines together to positively shape the way people experience a space.
